A rank (conjectural name[nb 1]) is a fanon term used to determine a quest monster's position within a quest. Depending on a quest's level (determined by the Party Member currently with the highest level), the monsters are always different. Here is a list of the monsters and their ranks, along with bosses.

Contrary to popular belief, bosses aren't set in specific dungeons, and they're fought in a set order that loops endlessly depending on the rank the quest is in. The order of bosses for each rank in this page goes from top to bottom.

Note: Permanent Quest bosses for the first, second, third, and fifth quests are only fought once, while the ones in the fourth and sixth quests are fought at the start of the loop and will appear again when the loop restarts.

Trivia[]

  • Despite Rock Hoppers being fought in low-leveled quests, it is possible to encounter two of them alongside a Doo-Whopper in Level 50 (Rank X) quests taking place in Citrus Cave. This is most likely due to a mix-up in the code that spawns Rock Hoppers in the battle instead of the much stronger and more logical Roll Hoppers (which appear normally in said quests) due to their very similar internal names ('Excite0' and 'Excite1' respectively).
