Monsters

Monsters are the primary adversaries encountered in Miitopia.

A monster is created when a Mii's stolen face parts are attached to a creature. The Dark Lord uses the stolen Mii parts as a means of controlling the monsters.

However, a Mii's face parts can be liberated by slaying the monster they're stuck to, causing them to fly back to their owner. Generally, stronger monsters possess more Mii face parts, with bosses being the only ones holding entire faces.

Trivia

• In Karkaton, the hero and the Great Sage encounter a Griffin with no Mii parts. This Griffin is one of the only docile monsters in the game. The Great Sage explains that without Mii parts, monsters are weak, incomplete creatures that the Dark Lord cannot control.
  • The Dragon that flies the protagonist everywhere is also docile without the Mii parts, but he has to be fought first as he was controlled by the Dark Lord, unlike the Griffin mentioned above.
  • The first time docile monsters are depicted in the game, however, is the Rock Moths found during the game's prologue, which seem harmless until Mii eyes are attached to one of them.
