Journal music

The Music section is a Journal menu where the player can listen to the game's music. The music has to be heard first during the adventure before it is recorded by the Journal. You will know when you have gotten all the songs by a small gold badge with red ribbons.

Tracks[]

There are 204 different tracks in the 3DS version of Miitopia and 247 tracks in the Switch version. In the Nintendo Switch version, some titles are changed mostly to reflect the track's usage in that version due to differences (like the lack of SpotPass). Some track names may also differ between regions. Tracks starting from 205 onwards are the newer tracks added to the Nintendo Switch version. Certain music tracks in the game are somehow not registered in the music list.

  • For the "Title" tracks, these are obtained by saving and quitting while in the respective region.
    • "Title: Miitopia" is the title theme for saving and quitting on the World Map screen.
      • This track will automatically be unlocked upon completing the game, as the game automatically goes to the title screen on the World Map after the credits.
  • "Stage: Sinister Plant", "Stage: Ghontu Cave", and "Stage: Manor Macabre" are the themes of three temporary quest areas.
  • To get both of the "End of the Dark Curse" and "Purging the Dark Curse" tracks, both endings must be watched.
  • The "Friend" themes are all heard by the time the player reaches Relationship Level 30.
  • "We Lost..." can be unlocked in a "no-defeat" run as the Noble's Son's loss against General "Princess" will also unlock this.
  • To avoid locking the player out of unlocking all music tracks, if the player did not say “no” to the horse, “Horse: Disappointment” will still be unlocked.
  • “Title: Powdered Peaks” is actually the second unlockable Title Track in the game.

Trivia[]

  • Two tracks "Boss Battle Time I" and "The Darkest Lord" appear in the 2018 crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros Ultimate under the names "Boss Battle" and "Boss: The Darkest Lord". These names are then used for the Nintendo Switch version of Miitopia, though only in NTSC regions.
  • In Tetris 99, three battle themes are used for the Miitopia theme, those being "Battle: Greenhorne", "Battle: Karkaton", and "Boss: Darkest Lord's Final Form", each of which are used when there are respectively 99, 50, and 10 players remaining, On top of that, the three "Battle Intro" jingles, as well as "We Won!", and "We Lost..." are also used.
  • When viewing in the Journal, the beats-per-minute can be told by how fast the Mii characters dance to the track.
  • Mii characters might sing "The Princess's Theme" during the singing event at inns, if the opposite Mii joins in.
  • "A Happy Ending" and "End of the Dark Curse" are triumphant orchestral reprises of "The Spoils of War".
  • "Boss: The Darkest Lord" is a darker, more dramatic version of "The Great Sage", also incorporating bits from "The Dark Lord".
    • Similarly, "The Path to Victory" is a slower, more melancholy version of "The Great Sage".
  • "Ending: Divine Words" is a more majestic, triumphant reprise of "Fly, Dragon Riders!".
  • In the cutscenes with the kidnapped companions from Greenhorne and Neksdor, a percussionless version of "The Darker Lord's Domain", "Meanwhile" (not listed in the Journal) can be heard.
  • "Who Put This Door Here?" and "Pre-battle: Daunting Opponent" both contain a sample of the track "Eyeball World" from the game Yume Nikki.
