Experience points

Mii characters earning experience points after a battle.

Experience points (abbreviated as EXP) are a game mechanic in Miitopia.

As a typical principle of RPGs, experience points are used to level up the playable characters. In Miitopia, experience points can be obtained from either defeating monsters or being lucky on the Roulette wheel. After defeating monsters, all Mii characters that venture out (not counting guest party members) will receive equal EXP drop, with some extra EXP called Bonus EXP obtained if the party's level average is lower than the (implied) suggested level of a particular monster during the battle. If the experience points are obtained from the Roulette (as a "blue" prize if the prize itself is not some grub), only one Mii can receive it. Depending on the prize wording, how much EXP (in percentages relative to the receiver) obtained will vary, though it is capped at 99,999 EXP if the receiver's level is high enough.

Level growth[]

All Mii characters, regardless of job taken, share the same level growth rate. A Mii's level is capped at 50, thus their EXP gauge will not fill up no matter how much experience points they gained at that level. The following table details how much EXP is needed to get from one level to the next.

Curing a cold[]

After clearing Dark Lord's Castle for the first time, it is possible for a teammate to catch a cold after a successful venture. Only after getting the ending for the first time does the player-controlled Mii have a possibility to get sick. If a Mii gets sick, they will be completely unusable until they recover in the inn. While inn events involving the sick Mii and certain bypasses can quicken a Mii's recovery, the only other way to recover a sick Mii is by obtaining enough EXP from adventures or the Roulette. EXP obtained there will not be multiplied by the number of Mii characters participating in battles in order for it to be counted as recovery EXP.

The following table details how much EXP is required to cure a Mii of a certain level from sickness.
