The Dark King (Japanese: 暗黒の王 Ankoku no Ou, Dark King) is a boss that can be encountered in New Lumos's 6th District, as well as the sixth floor of the Tower of Dread. The Dark King is essentially an even harder version of the Dark Lord from his boss battle in Karkaton, similar to the "Ex-Dark Lord", Phantom of Evil, and thus reuses many of the Dark Lord's attacks.

The Dark King is flanked by the Dark Queen in his battle.

The Medal "We're a republic now" is gained by defeating him and the Dark Queen.

He can also be fought daily on his own when defeated.

Appearance

The Dark King is visually indistinguishable from the Dark Lord aside from being completely black with purple highlights and a slightly smaller size. He emits a purple haze like the Dark Lord. He only has a pair of Mii eyes attached to him.

Trivia

  • The Dark Curse necklace on the Dark King's neck is a possible explanation for people still getting their faces stolen after the Darker Lord is defeated. This implies that a copies of the necklaces were created by the Darker Lord as a backup plan in case he ever died. This implication is shared by another New Lumos boss.
  • Despite being similar to the Dark Lord, the Dark King cannot summon Imps and steal the Mii characters' faces.
  • The Dark King is the only version of the Dark Lord not to share their colour with a type of Imp.
  • The BGM used for the Dark King and Queen is the same as the Dark Lord's battle theme.
